On 9/10/2005, Maikai Designs moved its hosting services to a new Data Center! With faster speed, better network monitoring, better reliability, and a faster connection to/from Hawaii, we felt this move was a win-win situation for everyone! Our new servers are blazingly FAST.

Servers are now leased and located in a world-class Data Center in Los Angeles at One Wilshire Building. One Wilshire is a 30 story 656,000 sq.ft. multi-tennant carrier neutral telecom facility located in the heart of the downtown Los Angeles business district. This is a multi-million dollar data center which allows us to deliver the best possible service to our clients.

Servers

Our servers are state of the art:

2U Intel Dual XEON 2.6GHz,
2x512KB cache,
2.0GB ECC RAM,
3 x 120GB SATA Hard Drives (with Hardware Raid 1 for hard drive redundancy),
Hardened Secure Kernel and
Redundant Power Supply Units.

Equipment

One Wilshire Building maintains over 48,000 gallons of diesel fuel to increase emergency power for up to 48 hours.

There is a 24 hour attended security lobby and staff monitoring the perimeter and sensitive areas 24/7.

In addition to the diesel generators, all servers are backed by redundant UPS systems.

Servers are cooled by Liebert AC units to maintain a constant temperature of 67 degrees.

Our network interconnectivity is based on a combination of Cisco and Foundry switches all connected via gigE to the core switch.

All servers are also connected to APC reboot switches to ensure remote reboot capabilities. Servers are located behind a Cisco PIX firewall for increased security.
